Job Summary

This position provides comprehensive support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including document preparation, discovery, trial support, and case management. The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple cases, anticipate attorney and client needs, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents such as correspondence, agreements, and pleadings. The individual will collaborate closely with attorneys to keep cases moving forward by tracking case status, providing updates, and promptly identifying critical issues.

The role involves supporting all aspects of discovery, including preparing discovery requests and responses, coordinating depositions, issuing subpoenas, and assisting with document review and analysis using various platforms. The individual will also manage and organize electronic case files in iManage to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

Trial preparation is a significant component of the position. Duties include compiling trial materials, coordinating witnesses, preparing and issuing trial subpoenas, organizing and managing exhibits, attending trial, and providing on-site support. The role also requires gathering and analyzing complex medical records to prepare detailed medical chronologies.

Qualifications and Experience

Successful candidates are meticulous, motivated, and adaptable, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and respond effectively to shifting priorities. A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to high-quality work is essential. Candidates must be comfortable learning new technologies, comply with client billing guidelines, and enter accurate time records. Nationwide travel may be required for trial attendance.

A bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required, along with at least four years of litigation defense experience.
